We designed this Save the Date card for Kyla and Peter of Cumberland, Rhode Island. The wedding is planned for late November, which in New England means leaves turning, chestnuts roasting, and fires warming. Using the season as inspiration we chose these rich and cozy colors of chocolate brown and deep red, layering them on a 4X5.5 inch rectangular flat card. Kyla told us she wanted a little flair on the card, perhaps something romantic, incorporating foliage and inspired by Old New England. We chose this stylized colonial rose, and heat embossed it onto the paper with chocolate ink; the image is raised and a little bit sparkly, giving the otherwise simple card a tactile and visual boost. The chocolate envelopes are embellished with red circular seals for addressing, and the return address is printed on red half-circles flush with the top of the rear flap. We're hard at work on the invitations for this wedding, so look for that great design here soon! |
