Lovely Lauren of Menlo Park, California celebrated her Bat Mitzvah at a chic venue in San Francisco. While wanting to mark the importance of the day with a memorable party and beautiful invitations, her parents were concerned that nothing be completely "over-the-top." After sharing with us photos of the table centerpieces, the restaurant and her favorite colors, we came up with something glam but not glitzy, formal but not frumpy, girly but not gawdy. We custom made this square card, with a self-pocket on the reverse to hold reply cards and envelopes and directions to both the temple and the party. The shimmery bronze pocket card is layered with a deep pink mulberry paper made in Thailand, screen printed with a golden vine pattern. The printed pieces are layered atop this in a heavy, textured Italian-style paper. A sash of bright shimmery gold wraps the whole package, and is tied in place with strawberry satin ribbon. When the sash is removed the date of Lauren's Bat Mtzvah is revealed, along with a cool graphic that is echoed throughout the rest of the prnted ensemble. Lauren's parents had lots of non-traditional requests for text and how it was to be presented, and some of the details of the event changed just before we went to production. Because everything we create is custom and one-of-a-kind, we were able to pull everything together exactly as they'd hoped it would appear, and with no extra fees for changes to stock designs or for extra proofs. We think this finished product is one of our most beautiful designs, and Lauren's mom said she was moved to tears when she received them in the mail, amazed that they "had obviously been made with so much love and care." Awww. We aim to please, ma'am!
