We designed this bear-y cute invitation for the annual Mothers and Sons Tea at Landon School, a Bethesda, Maryland prep school whose mascot is beloved by all. The students are called Landon Bears, the students' mothers call themselves Mama Bears. Seriously, they are crazy about the bear. So when the moms of almost-graduating seniors started planning the event in the fall, in the midst of their sons' college applications process, they were awfully misty-eyed about their little bear cubs, almost all grown up! They provided us with this sentimental image of a mother bear and her cub, and we fixed it up and added it to the top of this cute little flat card. Awwww. The cute pair are loping along above a sash of pink satin ribbon, a shout out to the moms. The bears and the backing card are chocolate brown on white, a tip of the hat to the boys and the Landon school colors. The invitations were mailed in chocolate envelopes, with pink oval seals for addressing and half-ovals on the rear printed with the return address.
