We were faced with a tough design problem with this project, an invitation to a mother and son tea for the senior class at the all boys Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland. The luncheon was to be held on Valentine's Day, so the invitations needed to reflect that and appeal to the moms, without being too feminine for the sake of the boys. We came up with this design, a square invitation within a petal-fold enclosure. The interior piece is printed on white, matted on a raspberry pink, but the whole thing is enclosed in a very manly chocolate brown. The folded outer card is wrapped with a raspberry, pink and white polka-dot sash, and tied closed with a chocolate satin ribbon. Mailed in a raspberry pink square envelope. We like this color scheme because it is fun for the moms without being flowery. It has a lot of dark brown and a cool contraption, for the boys. It incorporates Landon's school colors, which are brown and white, but it also looks like a yummy box of Valentine's chocolates! So, just like a little box of chocolates, there is a little something here to please everyone!
