To honor the memory of her grandparents, Leah of Eden Prairie, Minnesota organized a huge family reunion. She wanted to incorporate several family photos into an invitation, something beautiful that would entice even those family members half way around the world to attend. Unable to find something in a standard stationery shop that would allow her to elegantly incorporate her photos, she hired us to design something for her. We created this custom cut, triple panel card, which measures 5X7 inches when folded. Cut from a lovely sage green card stock, each panel is first layered with a beautiful Italian print of peony blossoms in salmon pink, sage green and bright blue. Matted on top of this are the invitation, silk screened in dark green ink onto a heavy, celery green Italian textured paper, and two photographs. The one on the first panel is of Leah's grandparents, taken in the late 1800s. And on the third panel are the highschool yearbook photos of Leah's mom and all of her siblings, the five children of the couple pictured. When folded, the card is wrapped in a sash cut from the same Italian peony paper, and then tied with a sage green satin ribbon. Mailed in a celery green envelope cut from the textured paper, it made a big impression on everyone who received it. And the report from the field: almost all of the more than 100 households invited did attend, and celebrated to make grandma and grandpa proud!
