Baby Wedding Birthday Shower Special Events Stationery Gifts Holiday
Teresa
When Teresa was pregnant with her first child, her sister Gabrielle of Silver Spring, Maryland planned a book-themed baby shower to outfit the new baby's nursery with a wonderful library of children's books. She came to us for invitations to this party, and told us that her sister was decorating the nursery in a barnyard theme and that she didn't know the gender of the unborn child. We designed this adorable double-sided invitation to look like a bookmark, and invited guests to bring inscribed copies of their favorite books for the baby. The gender neutral yet totally sweet color pallette includes a citrus orange base layer, matted with multicolor polka dots on the front, and a blue-purple printed layer on the back. A circular window on the front of the card frames a custom graphic depicting a mother hen reading to her little chick. And a sage green satin ribbon tied through the top of the card completes the "bookmark" look. These invitations were mailed in business-sized envelopes, but in the blue-purple color and with the flap opening at the short end. The hen and chick graphic was repeated on the front of the envelope, and they were hand addressed in citrus orange ink here in the Josie's Posies Studio.
