| When friends of Erica and Lance decided to throw them a party, they had trouble finding an invitation that would suit them. You see, the couple were expecting a baby, but had also just purchased their first home. Friends wanted to throw them a baby shower, but wanted to invite both the women and the men. And the couple of honor was uncomfortable with the idea of a party that was about them and their baby, and were really just interested in an open house type get-together. How to convey that in an invitation that is sweet but not too cute, feminine without excluding the boys in the room, and is suitable for both a house warming and a baby shower? Of course, they called us, and we got it just right. This A2 size folded note card in deep, beautiful red is embellished at every turn with a pink, red and chocolate Asian-inspired floral print. In the open circle on the front of the card is the phrase "house + family = home". A chocolate satin ribbon wraps around the entire card, tying shut at the bottom in a beautiful bow. When the card is opened the invitation reads "Soon they will be three and their house will become a home." The circular floral embellishment here and on the envelope give the whole piece a modern vibe, balancing the sweet and feminine floral print with something pleasing to any eye. Josie's Posies saves the day again. (paper: red, poppies in pink and chocolate. ribbon: chocolate satin. font: Century Gothic.) |
