Giddyup, Girl! For Miranda of Washington, DC, as for many a seven-year-old girl, it's about horses, bows, pink, purple and polka dots. For her horseback riding birthday party, we designed this 5x7 gate fold birthday invitation from all her favorite things. The card is dotty on the outside in shades of pink and purple, and tied closed with a big fat satin ribbon. The doors open to reveal a scallop-edged printed inner layer, mounted on the lilac interior of the enclosure card. We designed a custom graphic incorporating Miranda's initial, some flowers and a horseshoe, and repeated the motif on the back of the matching purple envelope. The invitation's rather elaborate design made a big impression on the young guests, earning this party a blue ribbon. (paper: superfine white, lotion. envelope: plum. ribbon: wide purple satin.
