| When Emma turned two her parents had two parties, one for family and one for friends AND family. Emma's mom wanted one invitation that could be customized for both groups, and that also could incorporate a reply postcard to help her keep track of the guest list. We hand cut this perfectly pink accordion fold card, which when fully opened reveals three separate panels of text. For the guests being invited to both parties we printed the first two panels with two separate party invitations. For the preschool friends we kept the one party invitation and substituted a generic turn of phrase and more graphics for the first panel. Both versions of the invitation have a pocket cut into the third panel, into which a matching RSVP postcard is inserted along with a map of the Baltimore party location and a recent photo of the birthday girl. The adorable butterflies and their swirling polka dot trails spread across all three panels, creating a unified and clear look for a rather confusing situation. (paper: blossom, superfine white. envelope: strawberry. font: Pauline.) |
